The Role:

Our largest UK site in Harrogate is currently recruiting for a QC Scientist to join the Biopharmaceutical Chemistry Manufacturing Controls (CMC) division. The CMC division provides end-to-end analytical solutions and testing services to ensure quality control of our clients manufactured drug products. We work with leading pharmaceutical and biotech clients to ensure that their manufactured drug product or API (Active pharmaceutical Ingredient) passes all quality testing. Once this testing is complete, it brings our clients one-step closer to successfully launching that drug product on the market; helping bring medicine to patients.

The QC Scientist will join the Liquid Chromatography group in the CMC division and will be responsible for managing studies on behalf of our clients for analytical testing on monoclonal antibodies and protein drug products. The analytical tests will determine shelf life stability & batch release testing for commercial products and clinical trial material and method validation.

As the QC Scientist, you will responsible for the following:

* Acting as a subject matter expert in an aspect of LC: HPLC, UPLC or Mass Spectrometry.
* Performing and reviewing a wide range of analytical techniques in accordance with GMP regulatory requirements to deliver client projects.
* Data approval to ensure that our clients' molecules pass quality control testing.
* Managing the day to day study lifecycle including troubleshooting, ensuring quality records, progression management, report writing, study management and potentially validation work.
* Acting as the main point of contact and liaising with clients to provide project updates and ensure customer satisfaction.
* Ensuring regulatory compliance so that studies are completed according to plan and within the proposed time frame.
* Leading and mentoring junior team members.
* Performing necessary quality investigations and working on process improvement projects.

Education / Qualifications

* Scientific degree (Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences etc.)


* Minimum 5 years' Experience working in the scientific industry using Chromatography techniques.

*Good understanding of the theory behind chromatography.

* An understanding of health and safety policies

* An in depth understanding of GMP regulations and reporting requirements of GMP.

*Knowledge of validation is desirable.

*Experience using Chromeleon is ideal but not necessary

* The post holder should be able to communicate effectively at all levels and integrate well within an established and fast growing team.
