Job Overview

Covance, the drug development business of LabCorp® has supported the pharmaceutical industry develop more medicines worldwide than any other company, including the top 50 best-selling drugs on the market today.

In 2019, Covance is establishing the Project Management Academy. This is our center of excellence to identify early talent and develop them into future Covance project managers.

We are looking for a strong Project Manager or Senior Project Manager who can help to shape this strategic vision in the Warsaw PM Academy location.

The ideal candidate is an exceptional people leader, a self-starter, and a visionary leader. S/he has a passion for teaching and mentoring; and s/he possesses an entrepreneurial spirit.

Highlights of this role include, but are not limited to, rolling out the PM/PC mentoring program to key decision makers in all therapeutic areas (oncology, CVMER, iiGM, and NOW); maximizing employee productivity and engagement; succession planning through ongoing talent review; defining, promoting and reinforcing key performance indicators; and implementing the day-to-day aspects of leading a regional department

Essential Job Duties:

l Drives process consistency and improvements across business unit

l Manages resources to the advantage of the global portfolio

l Builds regional team

l Escalates issues and implements mitigation and contingency plans

l Proactively engage in quality assurance activities

l Ensure Project Manager satisfaction and thus influence client satisfaction

Job duties include:

l Manages team including direct reports

l Resource Allocation management including recruitment/succession plans for key resources and an ensuring appropriate utilization targets achieved

l Point of contact for Clinical study team escalations

l Resolves conflicts

l Development and Retention of staff

l Oversee training matrix and training provision for team including compliance

l New initiative development and implementation

l Monitor and address quality issues/metrics

l Track and provide input for pricing assumptions

l Control and minimize write off for project support activities

l Ensure lessons learned are applied across the team

Education / Qualifications

Recommended:

* University/college degree, or certification in a related allied health profession from an appropriately accredited institution (e.g., nursing certification, medical or laboratory technology)
* In lieu of the above requirements, candidates with:
* Three (3) years supervisory Experience in a health care setting and
* Five (5) years clinical research Experience in the pharmaceutical or CRO industries

Experience

Minimum Required:

* Minimum of 8 years relevant clinical research Experience in a pharmaceutical company/CRO including demonstrated line manager Experience
* In lieu of the above requirement, candidates with:

* five (5) years supervisory Experience in a heath care setting
* five (5) years clinical research Experience including two (2) years of project management Experience will be considered
* Preferred
* Local project coordination and/or project management Experience .
