Job Overview

We are looking for a talented, highly-motivated individual to join our Data & Technology team focused on creating innovative, data-driven solutions to improve the speed, cost, and quality of drug development. As a key member of the team, you will lead R&D work on breakthrough innovations that will unlock the power of our data and clinical expertise to help pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies bring the miracles of medicine to the people in need faster and more efficiently.

As the intellectual and managerial leader of the R&D research group within the Data & Technology team, you will be responsible for initiating, managing, advancing, and enabling important R&D projects, while providing thought leadership and significant individual contributions to the team's efforts and productivity. As a recognized data science and machine learning domain expert, you will develop and advise analytic approaches, tools, and methodologies that will exploit operational, clinical, health, social, and unstructured textual data, to address both retrospective and predictive statistical learning questions related to patient recruitment, clinical study design, patient safety, optimal trial planning and execution, data management, and operational risk assessment.

In addition to the scientific and leadership responsibilities, you will also contribute to the creation of state-of-the-art software solutions for the efficient capture, processing, and dissemination of data and predictive models for wider use within the company and by our pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. Working in a highly collaborative environment, you will identify key insights that influence business decisions, drive product innovation, and partner with engineering teams to build and launch data-enabled capabilities as product offerings. As an expert in data-enabled analytics capabilities, you will build relationships with our clients and partners to transform the pharmaceutical industry into a data and AI enabled enterprise. You will be active in the data science community and contribute to the team's efforts to attract, retain, and grow talent in a performance-driven organization.

Education/Qualifications

Minimum Required:

- PhD in computational, physical or life sciences with a strong quantitative focus, or BS/MS with equivalent Experience .

Responsibilities:

* Discover stories told by data and present them to others through rich and intuitive visualizations.
* Develop novel ways of integrating, mining and visualizing diverse, high dimensional and poorly curated data sets.
* Formulate, implement, test, and validate predictive models, and implement efficient automated processes for producing modeling results at scale.
* Write production quality code while implementing your own ideas. Work closely with engineering teams and participate in the full development cycle from product inception, research, and prototyping to release in production.
* Measurably impact company performance by delivering high quality, scalable data products.
* Contribute to bid defenses and present capabilities to internal and external clients.
* Maintain external visibility through publications and conference presentations.
* Demonstrate very strong technical and thought leadership and ability to influence and guide the work of others.

What we are looking for:

* PhD in computational, physical or life sciences with a strong quantitative focus.
* 5+ years of hands-on Experience in the analysis, modeling, and visualization of large, complex, and heterogeneous data sets, post PhD (may include academic post-doctoral training).
* Deep understanding and hands-on Experience with statistics, data mining, machine learning, and optimization techniques.
* Experience leading accomplished small research teams, through mentorship, communication, problem-solving and example.
* Expert statistical programming skills in R, Python, Matlab, or equivalent.
* Excellent understanding of algorithms (both statistical and otherwise) and their scalability.
* Proficiency with relational databases, SQL, and entity-relationship modeling.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong written and verbal presentation.
* Experience with life science and/or healthcare data.
* A passion for innovating with data sciences at scale; applying modern algorithms to large data sets and creating measurable business value.
* Obsessive attention to detail, passion for the end-user Experience .
* General problem-solving skills, versatility.
* Collaborative mindset, team spirit.
