Job Overview

The Sample Coordinator will report to the Supervisor and Operations Manager. They may be allocated to other supervisors as necessary for day to day work on specific studies.

Performs a variety of sample accession responsibilities in compliance with appropriate SOPs, GLP, GCP, H+S and regulatory guidelines, in support of departmental operations.

The Sample Coordinator will perform most or all of the following tasks, or demonstrate knowledge of the following areas. More comprehensive details of each task or area of knowledge and the grade achieved are recorded in the relevant section of the training records.

* Performs any combination of sample accession tasks, including opening, entering, and processing of samples.
* Reviews sample inventory against samples received to ensure accuracy and communicate discrepancies.
* Confirmation of sample receipt to clients.
* Handles internal customer inquiries and requests.
* Distributes sample information and paperwork to appropriate cost centres.
* Prepares samples for analysis as required.
* Handles incoming samples for various business groups (Toxicology, CPS, Bioanalytical Chemistry, CMC etc.)
* Individual has a responsibility to conduct all work in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, and specifically those regulations (GLP, GCP) specified in the study plans, protocols, or work agreements governing the work in which they are involved.
* Exercises judgment in the receipt of samples when discrepancies highlighting to responsible personnel or resolving as they occur.
* Able to adapt techniques to new procedures
* Plans individual workload in collaboration with team members so that deadlines are met.
* May train or direct less Experience d staff.
* Effectively schedules multiple assigned tasks.
* Demonstrate a knowledge and use of data systems - Nautilus, Clinaxys II etc
* Demonstrate good communication skills and effective liaison with Shift Leaders, Supervisors, Study Directors, and other members of staff within department and from other departments.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.-
Education / Qualifications


GCSE's, A-levels or equivalent


* Some previous practical laboratory Experience in a similar environment would be an advantage

* Good communication skills and an ability to work within appropriate company procedures

* Ability to utilise word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and specialised software on personal computers.
