The Role:

Our largest UK site in Harrogate is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician to join the Dose Formulation and Analysis Department. The Dose Formulations team ensures drug or chemical formulations are accurately prepared and can be dosed consistently as part of formulation preparation process. The department focuses on stability properties of the drug, (homogeneity, stability, solubility and compatibility with dosing equipment) the design and scale-up of the manufacturing process and the formulation of the finished product. At Covance, we provide does formulation services to leading pharmaceutical and biotech organizations to help them get one-step closer to successfully launching their drug product on the market.

The dose formulation laboratory technician will be responsible for accurately preparing gavage, capsules, dietary and aseptic / sterile formulations using a variety of techniques and laboratory equipment. All analytical techniques will be performed in accordance with GLP regulatory requirements and SOP's to deliver client projects. You will also be responsible for resolving any problems, which may prevent efficient operation of studies, liaising with supervisors where necessary.

Finally, you will have responsibility for data processing, report writing, SOP (standard operating procedure) writing as well as working on process improvement projects for the division.

This is a exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to start a scientific career with limited academic qualifications. Full training will be provided.

Education / Qualifications

The successful candidate will ideally have a science qualification iat GCSE or A Level equivalent as a minimum. A scientif degree is not required as full training will be provided.

Experience

Previous Experience would be advantageous, however as it's a entry level role, full training will be provided.
