Job Overview

We are looking for Experience d professionals with Medical Lab Technician expertise as well as atleast one year of team management.

¨ Supervise the day-to-day operations of the team including but not limited to:

o Ensuring the development of a competent workforce to meet growth plans within budget.

o Supervise the workload balance.

o Accountable for the activities of the team, communicating issues to

management and taking corrective action where appropriate.

o Establish cross-functional mechanism to increase communication,

accountability and understanding of deliverables globally.

o Ensure the consistent implementation, use and review of SOPs.

o Monitor and track department activities and resources.

¨ Assist and support management in the development and implementation of global processes and procedures, and performance metrics.

o Ensure new processes are developed with global participation and

implementation.

o Track, monitor, and report metrics in the agreed upon timelines.

¨ Provide User/Database training for internal personnel

¨ Instill a culture of continuous improvement, quality and productivity

¨ Supervise staff including but not limited to:

o Coordinate and monitor progress to ensure achievement of timelines and goals.

o Day-to-day supervision of individual team members.

o With management's input, complete thorough, timely and well-documented performance evaluations and interim progress reviews.

o Establish and monitor performance objectives for direct reports,

communicate performance issues to management, and take corrective

actions where appropriate.

¨ Ensure all service failures are identified, tracked and resolved in a timely manner.

Take preventative action to ensure that the same service failure(s) does not occur again.

¨ Act as a liaison between the required internal Covance contacts to facilitate answers to inquires regarding performing labs and outside referral laboratories as required.

¨ Partner with Quality Assurance, Medical Affairs, Protocol Services, IT

management and Global Covance sites to ensure development and implementation of effective strategies for formulation of and adherence to customer Local Labs Resulting requirements.

¨ Identify problems associated with the resulting or RLI process and resolve these problems through interaction with the required internal Covance contacts.

¨ Effective and timely adherence to management communications, meetings and procedures.

¨ Support culture of continuous improvement, quality and productivity.

¨ Ensure the validity of test results resulted in database through the performance of established quality assurance and quality control procedures.

¨ Result Entry

o Prepare proper documentation of test results and enter into the information

system.

o Generate an appropriate audit trail for all activities.

o Document and report any result reporting problems or inconsistencies to laboratory management.

o Complete resulting within the expected turn around time to meet customers' expectations

¨ Other duties as assigned.

Education/Qualifications

Preferred:

* Bachelor's degree and completion of at least a 12-month training program in Medical Technology.
* Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical or biological science from an accredited college or university and one year training and/or Experience in the specialty in which testing is to be performed. Such training must be equivalent to that received in a school of Medical Technology.-
Level of education required (or Experience level which may be substituted for level of education).

Professional designations/certifications/licenses required.

Experience

* Candidate with at least 8 years of total career Experience and at least 1 year of Line Management Experience .
* Experience with clinical trial/development projects.
* Demonstration of contribution to teamwork and excellent communication skills.
* Strong planning, organizational, and problem solving skills.
* Proven record of driving continuous improvement.
* Demonstrated a high degree of initiative and ability to work collaboratively
* Ability to use several software packages i.e. Windows, Word, Excel.
