Job Overview

Reporting to the Vice President and Global Therapeutic Area Head (Neurology, Ophthalmology, and Women's Health), the primary role of the incumbent will be to serve as the global lead physician providing subject matter and drug development expertise. He/She will be expected to be a key contributor to the medical strategy and execution of clinical programs. Furthermore, the Sr. Medical Director will play a key role in people leadership/management, client relations, and business development representing Covance in proposals and industry meetings as needed.

Additional responsibilities include;

* Medical data review
* Develop, review, and revise protocols, CRF, training materials, code/data tables, listing and figures
* Actively participates and assists in preparations for investigator meetings
* Medical and safety monitoring
* Participates in project risk assessment activities
* Provides clinical and medical expertise to other Covance departments
* Contributes to the scientific strategic leadership for a given therapeutic area

This is a remote home-based role with primarily US travel, some global as needed. Travel is around 30-50%.

Education/Qualifications
- MD degree with specialization in Neurology, Psychiatry or related specialty
- Board Certification in Neurology or Psychiatry
- Relevant sub specialty fellowship training

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to travel up to 50%, domestic and global
* 1:3 weekend call rotation

Experience

* A minimum of 5 years clinical research Experience within a Pharma or CRO environment
* Previous Experience in medical practice/patient care
* Experience supporting Phase I - IV clinical trials
* Strong knowledge and Experience with Neurology or Psychiatry trials
