Job Overview

The Senior Marketing Manager initiates, develops and implements marketing and positioning strategies and tactics for Covance Central Labs (CCLS). This includes working with all global sites and with multiple service areas to effectively position key differentiation attributes within the market via multiple interventions. The successful candidate will be proactive, possess sound business judgment, have excellent people skills, the ability to multi-task, and meet aggressive deadlines.

The Senior Marketing Manager develops sales tools in conjunction with the Director of Global Marketing, Sales Management, Medical Affairs, Operations, and Corporate Communications, to be used by the sales force to execute the key positioning strategies. This includes working with sales training to develop methods for educating the sales force to effectively use the tools and leverage special focus efforts.

The Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for selecting and developing strategies for key conferences and meetings to promote Covance Central Labs. This includes working with the Corporate Marketing Communications Meeting Coordinator to facilitate all aspects of the meeting, including messages, booth graphics, premium items, and focused customer events.

The Senior Marketing Manager will gather market information on customer needs and key competitors, and use this information to identify the marketing strategies to differentiate Covance Central Labs, as well as to provide the sales force with key areas of focus in their selling efforts.

The Senior Marketing Manager will work with the sales force on key focused customer initiatives/presentations in order to foster the Central Labs image, promote the brand and enhance relationships with our customers.

The Senior Marketing Manager will work with Medical Affairs and Operations to develop new services and products, and create a launch plan for the new services and products.

Additionally, the Senior Marketing Manager will work with other Covance divisions to create and deliver integrated customer solutions, co-marketing programs and educational efforts, as appropriate.

Education/Qualifications

A minimum of a BA/BS, preferably in a pharmaceutical, medical and/or science related field

(Preferred) MBA degree

Experience

Working knowledge of the clinical trial processes

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Team orientation

Must be a self-motivator – willing to influence events to achieve goals

Skilled in using PC based computer hardware and software including Microsoft WORD, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

Willingness to travel globally - ~20% travel

8-10+ years marketing within marketing and sales environment

Experience with customer marketing program planning, development, and implementation.

(Preferred)Experience working in a laboratory sciences segment and global organization(s)
