Covance is seeking an Animal Technician at our facility in Denver, PA.

The Animal Technician will:

♦ Adhere to strict SOP's, directives and enforce regulatory compliance.
♦ Responsible for sanitation of the animal buildings, cages, and support areas in order to maintain a clean and healthy environment to produce the highest quality animal and minimize the spread of bacteria and disease.
♦ Responsible for physical area of designated building (stock/production).
♦ Rabbit production: breed, palpate, manage nest boxes, foster, identify and retain breeder candidates, wean.
♦ Maintain animal stock: feed, wash cages, dump pans, check automatic watering, identify health issues, and consolidate.
♦ Set up orders by age/weight for all shipments to customers, identify and confirm client requirements, select and pack animals to meet delivery schedules.
♦ Be aware of compliance issues and report as needed.
♦ Conduct head count of animals to determine availability of salable animals.
♦ Do laundry to maintain personal hygiene.
♦ Monitor all traffic and material entering the building.
♦ Stock supplies for building.
♦ Ability to perform RADAC plate testing, internal chlorine reading, ammonia samples, fecal collections, and necropsies.
♦ Take necessary steps to assume a safe working environment.
♦ Complete necessary paperwork (stock/production).
♦ Write and update SOP's as needed.
♦ Perform miscellaneous duties, as assigned.


♦ High school diploma or equivalent
♦ AALAS Certification preferred


Small animal production/order preparation Experience helpful
♦ Previous Experience in science field helpful
